- It's a Twilight-Zone irony that this question would enter my mental realm from an external source because I have recently been thinking a lot about some of the foolish things I thought and did in my younger years, not really regrettably but deconstructing, perhaps to avoid repeating past mistakes and confronting the shocking reality that despite all I think I know there's still more learning and maturing to do as long as I'm breathing.
Some years ago I allowed a close associate to convince me to relocate without first moving my library--the plan was that since there were so many books and packing books are a royal pain, I'd get them later. To keep it short and sour: I lost my library. Shakespeare! Hemingway! Baldwin! Morrison! Playboy! All gone!
So, what advice would I give my younger self?
