Audrey said… - Someof us have had some success ingetting students to come to school on time. Students should be taught how to enter a class room even though they are late. Having them set out the entire ckass may cause them to miss the same class everyday.Do they go to that teacher and get the missed assignments?? I did not read where the parent is baufgt in for a conference. If there is one thing a principal can do is focus on atendance. It will take several years to impact grades, but attendance approval can happen more quickly, Oarents should be made aware early on that their child is being late for school. Being late is surely a sign for other serious. May the community groups that you met with sevewral weks ago can assist in gettu=ing students off the streets and into school. Once in school something ,besides setting, must happen
